Invitation to Join
It is the fervent desire of my heart that God will raise up volunteers who are willing and able to help us lead the musical aspect of worship and to help us as we reach out to the surrounding community!  If you believe that God is calling you to participate in this ministry (even if only for a little while), I would love to speak with you!  I am always accepting auditions (even if you think your instrument would not be normal in a church service-God can use you!).  Please feel free to contact me at carrie.evans22@yahoo.com

Music Worship Team Position Statement

1.   While we openly acknowledge that worship involves more than just music, the worship team at Covenant Community Church seeks to use this gift as a means of lifting the heart, convicting the spirit, and shifting the focus of those who sing with us so that in all things God might receive the glory.

2.   Music is an important part of the church and God’s ministry within it. In understanding of that, we seek to be the best that we can be using the talents God has given us.

3.   Understanding that music is a vital component of the church’s mission to go into the world and make disciples, we seek to use a blend of traditional hymnody and modern song so that we can reach out across the generational gap.

Music Worship Team Mission Statements
Worship Team As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies--in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4:10-11 (ESV)

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Matthew 29:19-20 (ESV)

From Carrie Evans
First of all, let me welcome you to Covenant Community Church.  Even if you have never darkened the door of our little church, your visit here is the first step, and I’m praying for you!  I look forward to seeing you here.

I have been the music director here since January 2008, but music ministry has been on my heart and something in which I have participated freely for nearly as long as I can remember.  I graduated from Columbia International University with a degree in music that focused primarily on using piano and voice to lead worship.  I loved it!  While I have always been involved in praise teams and choirs of some sort, my first paid position was leading children’s music in Lexington, SC.  I did that for a few years before moving on to Covenant as the piano player and music director.  I get to do what I love all the time, and my family works behind the scenes with me (my husband Travis helps run sound and helps with various team needs).  I couldn’t ask for the Lord to have put me in a better place.  Unfortunately, I have to do this only part time, since I teach piano, voice, and 4th grade elsewhere as well.  I hope, though, to see you here and maybe, just maybe, to hear your talents as part of my team!
