Covenant Community Church
Our Vision

PURPOSE
Covenant Community Church is an expression of Christ’s body representing Him in South Lexington for God’s glory. 

MISSION
We intend to advance God’s Kingdom by proclaiming the gospel so that people believe and obey Jesus Christ. 

VISION
We intend to grow as the Spirit gives new life to people who encounter Christ through His Word in our grace centered, prayer saturated, mission focused, worshipping community. 

VALUES 

1. Growing.

God calls people to Himself and causes them to grow into the likeness of Jesus. We expect to see people brought from spiritual death to new life and to see growth in those who are alive in Christ. All this happens by the Spirit and the Word.   

2. Grace Centered

God chose His people before creation and He gives them forgiveness and a perfect record through faith in Christ. We are His beloved not because we are good, but because of His saving grace. We insist that this grace is not just for the beginning of the Christian life. Our ongoing walk of obedience by the Spirit is built on continual repentance from sin and enjoyment of our standing as sons and daughters through Christ’s righteousness and atoning blood.   

3. Prayer Saturated

A local church can be very busy without significant kingdom advancement. Jesus promised the church greater works than His own and lasting fruit as we remain in Him and ask. When we ask, we can expect the Father to give the Spirit and kingdom fruit. The lasting impact of our ministry is that done by the Word and Spirit in response to prayer. 

4. Mission Focused

Jesus gave the Church marching orders. Everything must come back to seeing the nations believe and obey Jesus Christ. This does not mean we will impose pressured evangelistic methods. However we insist that every believer, experiencing the joy of salvation, will have an outward, welcoming, hospitable mindset, seeking to bring others into contact with Christ through the ministry of the local church. 

5. Joyful Worship

Since we have received such a great salvation, our lives and meetings will be filled with worship. We expect God to meet with us as we gather to pray, sing, participate in the sacraments and hear the Word preached and taught. 

6. Community

We are one body with unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. While focusing on the mission of the church, we will encourage, support and love one another. Each person’s unique gifts are indispensable for the proper functioning of the whole body.
